Social-Emotional Learning
Social/Emotional Learning
Beyond academics, guidance counselors play a key role in fostering students' personal and emotional well-being. They offer a safe space to address concerns, provide conflict resolution, and connect students with resources for mental health support. Understanding social/emotional development is incredibly important to helping students succeed. The Milford High School Counseling team is dedicated to supporting students with the skill development needed to reach individual goals in and out of the classroom. We work individually with young adults to help develop and reinforce the skills necessary to support self-regulation, communication, problem solving, decision making and relationship building. We believe that fostering independence and confidence helps young adults feel empowered to achieve their full potential and thrive as successful adults.
The mental, social, emotional health of all students is of the utmost importance. If you are struggling or feeling overwhelmed and need a safe place to express yourself, please reach out to your counselor. We are here for you- no problem is too small! There are numerous resources even within our school walls to help support and encourage you throughout your time here and beyond. In addition to the school counseling department, there is support available from school adjustment counselors, district social workers, and school psychologists. We also have partnerships with community agencies to help with additional ongoing intervention for our students and families. Please reach out to us and let us know how we can help support you.
