The MHS Library
Welcome to the MHS Library Website. My name is Dr. Molinari and I am the School Librarian here at Milford High, where I have been for over a decade. I specialize in the study of ancient cultures, with a particular emphasis on the relevance of ancient wisdom to contemporary society. My academic interests pair very nicely with the school library, because within our collection we possess works that were written thousands of years ago, and yet at the same time we regularly utilize cutting-edge technology as we engage with those works.
I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction, and our collection has plenty to offer of both. My favorite fiction writer is probably either C.S. Lewis (in particular his Space Trilogy) or Sophokles; whereas my favorite non-fiction writer would definitely be Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher. I also enjoy collecting ancient Greek and Roman coins, studying languages (particularly ancient languages), and mushroom hunting. When visiting, you’ll notice there are many displays throughout the library. These feature various artifacts from the library archives relating to the history of Milford, but also many items on loan from my own collection. I am generally always easily found at the circulation desk or in my office, so please stop by if you need assistance, or, better yet, just to say hello!
Our mission here in the library is to make students independent and effective users of information, and we strive to be an integral part of the school’s total instructional program. To this end, the library is designed to provide comprehensive support, instruction and materials to all MHS students and faculty, and everyone is encouraged to come to the library to relax and study in a dynamic learning environment. We also offer four courses that complement our basic services: The Library Reading Program (LRP), Independent Library Research Program (ILRP), AP Seminar, and AP Research (forthcoming 2021-2022 School Year).
Using the links on this page, you will find many important resources to help you throughout your high school career, including the online library catalog (Destiny), Gale databases, and MHS citation guide—all located on the righthand side of this webpage.
If you need a book or journal article that is not available through our catalog or databases, please fill-out the MHS Library Document Delivery Form and send via email. We can get you virtually anything ever published!
